Journal: The Wound Healing Effect of Chlorhexidine 0.05% in the Treatment of School Children with Vulnus Laceratum
Microorganisms are widely distributed in nature and are found as normal flora on the skin. However, they can be harmful—especially to children with tissue injuries. With topical treatment using Chlorhexidine 0.05%, no Pseudomonas aeruginosa or other bacteria were found in laceration wounds (Vulnus Laceratum).
Among the most common wounds in children are those caused by falls or injuries. The first step in treatment is applying Chlorhexidine wound solution to prevent bacterial contamination, accelerate healing, and reduce pain.

It is concluded that Chlorhexidine 0.05% is effective in eliminating Pseudomonas aeruginosa growth in wounds.
Wounds treated with Chlorhexidine Antiseptic Solution also showed faster drying and healing.
